The latest LEED V4 standards call for increased building and finishing product transparency through Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). Together, these two tools help standardize sustainability reporting across industries and make the process of choosing eco-responsible products simpler, smarter, and more transparent.
Crossville adheres to LEED V4 Standards for LCA- and EPD-driven product transparency by providing this reporting on all of our Tennessee-made sustainable tile products and solutions, and porcelain tile panels.
About LCAs & EPDs
LCAs study the impact of a product on the environment from sourcing through manufacturing, distribution, use, removal/disposal, and renewal (through recycling or other means). EPDs are individual product summaries, that present a snapshot of key information gained from LCAs to allow designers and architects to clearly evaluate the sustainability of a particular product over its entire life cycle.
About HPDs & Declare Labels
Health Product Declarations (HPDs) and Declare Labels are both material ingredient disclosure reports. They report the ingredients and associated hazards for products used in a built environment. The Declare Label also indicates that there are no red-list ingredients in our products. Declare Labels and the Red list both come from the International Living Future Institute.
