Crossville Joins ID & Design International to Create Award-winning Tile Garment for Design Mix 2018
For more than 15 years running, Crossville has participated in IIDA South Florida’s Design Mix event, a fashion show like no other; interior design firms pair with industry members to design and create one-of-a-kind garments constructed of sponsors’ building and design products. Non-industry judges evaluate the garments and present awards in various categories. This festive and fun networking and social event also serves a higher purpose: funding interior design student awards and legislation advocacy efforts.
For this year’s Casino Royale-themed Design Mix, we joined our distribution partner D&B Tile Distributors in working with ID & Design International, a premier leading design firm in the Retail & Hospitality industry, to present a glamorous take on Casino Royale. The talented design team devised a bedazzling Bond Girl garment fashioned from luminous tile and mosaics from a range of Crossville collections.
An opulent high-rimmed collar was constructed with metallic linear stripes comprised of Crossville Porcelain Tile Panels, with our Ebb & Flow glass mosaics used to create a perfect Bond Girl bodice and headpiece.
Our Bond Girl’s long, flowing train was handmade with metallic quatrefoil shaped waterjet-cut tile and sparkling crystals. Bejeweled wrist cuffs crafted from our mirrored Sideview Glass tile completed the glamorous look.
The designing minds at ID & Design did an amazing job using our porcelain tile and glass mosaics to capture the high-rolling spirit of Casino Royale and winning the award for “Best Use of a Challenging Material!”
