Bohemia and Java Joint
At the recent Surfaces flooring event (part of TISE, The International Surface Event) in Las Vegas, our theme was “Bold Blends.” Our booth featured our latest and greatest, including our exciting new Java Joint collection, a striated porcelain tile inspired by the bold blends and smooth creams of coffees. We even had a Bold Blends coffee shop at the booth, complete with baristas serving up made-to-order coffee creations. But the Bold Blends concept is is more than just a tradeshow theme and fun way to celebrate the launch of our new coffee inspired line; it’s truly a strategy of our product development to give designers and architects more flexibility. So what is our Bold Blends strategy, and how did we come up with it?
We’re always looking to bring new tiles to the market for beautiful, creative options for designers. As the mixed material trend started to occur, we asked ourselves how we could address this trend to offer more options to designers. We found that if we offered complementary palettes within our broad catalog of products, designers could get really creative and innovative, finding all the creative solutions they need with our tile. This unique strategy of blending colors and textures together doesn’t just apply to a few product lines; it carries throughout a wide range of our products. We have worked very hard to inject our strategies for color and texture into everything we offer. It’s a thoughtful and purposeful approach to simplify the process for designers, architects, and anyone who specifies tile.
The bold part of our Bold Blends strategy addresses the trend toward inky, dark, and rich colors that are exciting and statement-making. In addition to bold, on-trend colors and our strategy for blendability across our lines, we’re also thoughtful about giving designers complete product packages to work with – that means complete, coordinating trims and mosaics for our collections.
Here’s a look at how some of our latest exciting collections blend so well together!
The unique texture of Bohemia, a mix of burlap and concrete, blends really well with the gentle, linear pattern of our coffee-inspired Java Joint.
The luxuriously large panels of our Calce gauged porcelain tile panels pair nicely with coffee inspired Java Joint (in both 12×24 planks and mosaics) giving a clean look with beautiful, subtle colors.
For a great textural contrast, our cement look Notorious is a perfect partner with wood-look Nest’s organic vibe, while fabric -like Bohemia offers the right amount texture juxtaposed with the smooth and gentle striations of Java Joint.
The large format tiles of our Seta collection reveal the replication of delicate silk strands woven throughout, serving as a beautiful complement to big, bold natural stone like Cava.
