This year's tile trends reflect the design industry's versatility, with tile collections featuring sophisticated textures, a rich palette of warm tones, sumptuous finishes, and eco-conscious materials. Ceramic tiles (and that includes porcelain!) in 2025 are more than just functional—they're a bold declaration. Whether updating an existing area or designing a new one, the prevailing tile trends provide myriad opportunities to elevate the aesthetic appeal and practicality of both commercial and residential interiors and exteriors. Here's a look at 2025 tile trends and some of the Crossville tile collection that align with the trends.

Sustainable Yet Luxurious

Sustainability is more than a trend— as companies and homeowners prioritize luxury eco-friendly materials and designs, specifying eco-friendly materials has become a core design principle. Thanks to its earth-derived components, ceramic tile is one of the most sustainable surfacing materials available. It is also extremely long-lasting and easily recyclable. Architects and designers in 2025 are specifying with the planet in mind, and tile is a surface that ticks off all the boxes.

Carbon-neutral Native Metal porcelain tile  captures the eternal luxury of patinaed minerals and ores in a refreshingly unique porcelain and resin tile line.

While designers do prioritize the specification of sustainable materials, aesthetics are still paramount. Inkjet printing and sophisticated finishing technology have revolutionized the ceramic and porcelain tile industry, enabling highly realistic imitations of other materials like wood, marble, natural stone, cement, brick, and more. These reproductions not only look authentic but also feature textured surfaces that feel real to the touch.

Like its Belgian limestone inspiration,  Beljn™ carbon-neutral porcelain tile  features the look of visible ancient fossils, corals, and white calcite veins, yet the collection is decidedly contemporary in color and sizing. The tile line has two finishes: unpolished, which features Crossville’s unique FeatherSoft™ finish for an extraordinarily touchable surface, and a bush-hammered style exterior finish designed for grand scale and high fashion in outdoor spaces.

Character & Texture

Current tile trends are about rich colors, varied materials, and lots of texture. Incorporating tile materials with character brings depth and warmth. Ceramic and porcelain tiles with an artisanal quality add unique character and form the foundation of a textured aesthetic. Textured tiles interact with light and showcase finishes, transforming spaces into refined, upscale settings.

Textured Tiles

Our  Sociale™ porcelain tile collection features six luxurious natural stone looks that exude quiet elegance. Featuring Crossville’s FeatherSoft™ finish for extraordinarily touchable surfaces and an exterior finish for inside-out flexibility, Sociale is visually appealing yet practical.

The four stone surfaces that comprise  Marblique porcelain tile  are rendered with unparalleled accuracy—both in looks and feel. This exciting new line with VisualTouch™ technology is an exotic, luxurious surfacing choice for your residential design projects, yet durable enough to withstand the toughest commercial environments.

Checkerboard Chic

Checkerboard patterns are having a moment in interior design, appearing in paint, textiles, wallpaper, and ceramics/porcelain. The pattern has been a classic choice for centuries and has never truly gone out of style. The checkerboard floor is ideal for the popular “period modern” design—a style that blends traditional interiors with contemporary elements.

Retro Active 2.0™ porcelain tile  answers any design challenge, including checkerboard! The line’s 13 through-body hues come in polished and unpolished finishes, as well as the linear pattern texture. Seven diverse sizes invite mixing and matching with modularity, and the ample trim package offers fully finished looks.

Mosaic Art

Mosaics are gaining renewed interest for their ability to personalize a space. From monochromatic schemes to complex patterns, tile design options are limitless with mosaics. Most Crossville® porcelain floor tile collections offer mosaic options, but we offer several ceramic and glass mosaic wall tile collections as well.

convergence-wall-Karosis-JSA-Danvers-20210728-8504467-copy.jpgConvergence™ glass mosaics  offer the look of end-grain woods awash in eight vibrant colors and cast in polished glass for a lustrous effect. The mosaics, mesh-backed in 12”x12” sheets, meld biomimicry with an artistic splash, bringing a natural visual and glamorous shine to designs.
