Primary Bath Renovation
Denver, Colorado | February 10, 2023
Introduction
Diane Gordon Design is no stranger to remodeling kitchen and bath spaces throughout Denver’s upscale residential areas. With a too-large deck-style tub under a window and double vanity that wasn’t functional, this primary bath desperately needed an overhaul. Add to the poor use of space, a skinny shower was behind the bath entry door.
The Story
Diane Gordon’s team worked on redesigning the entire space by moving a wall from an overly large walk-in closet. The additional space allowed traditional split vanities for him and her and accommodated a larger shower. The design created a focal wall with the new freestanding tub under the window and beautiful floral wallpaper.
To help draw your eyes toward the focal wall, the design team chose to install Crossville’s State of Grace collection in the 12” x 24” size in a herringbone pattern* leading you to the freestanding tub. The large tiles provide a clean and modern look and provide direction through the pattern installation.
“We love that this line has a variety of shapes and sizes to mix and match,” explained Diane Gordon. So much so that the team continued the pattern on the shower floor with the State of Grace herringbone mosaic. For the shower walls, the team also chose State of Grace in 3” x 6” in a standard subway pattern enabling easy cleaning and maintenance.
From the gentle stone veining of grays to the delicate, subtle touches of black and brown tones, Crossville’s State of Grace is a durable porcelain tile alternative to true marble that offers easy maintenance and eliminates worries of staining and chipping that are common when using the natural stone.
*For 12″ x 24″ herringbone patterns, per the TCNA handbook, we recommend a mock-up for approval prior to installation.
Conclusion
With its timeless style and traditional form, this renovated primary bath will be a welcome and warm respite for homeowners for years to come. Thanks to selecting Crossville, the tile will stand the test of time and continue delivering top performance.
