South Florida Law Firm
Fort Lauderdale, Florida | February 10, 2023
Introduction
When it came time to design a new law firm office in Fort Lauderdale, the team associated with the project knew that South Florida’s popular Mediterranean Revival style didn’t have to be the verdict for the facility’s look. Instead, the team boldly chose a modern look that would stand out among the area’s traditional stucco facades.
The Story
To bring unique, stand-out style to the exterior of the new office space, the team specified Crossville’s SpeakEasy tile collection in the Sweet Georgia Brown color. This nuanced, wood-look porcelain tile was chosen for its ability to add the warmth and softness of wood grain yet offer the lasting durability necessary for an exterior application—especially in the South Florida heat and humidity. This porcelain tile collection is virtually weather-proof and extremely simple to maintain, making it an excellent solution for challenging cladding projects.
To modernize the exterior aesthetic of the space and create the stand-out style for curb appeal, the designers chose a traditional stack pattern. They specified SpeakEasy’s 8” x 36” planks installed as a direct bond over cementitious substrate to achieve the pattern. The SpeakEasy plank sizes invite designers to invent custom looks and installation patterns.
Conclusion
Achieving a classic foundational style in the warmth of wood look and offering the durability needed for exterior cladding, SpeakEasy proved to be an ideal solution for this legal team—case closed.
