Crossville’s Waldrep Recognized Among 35 Women in Flooring

August 9, 2021

Floor Covering News has published a list of the top 35 women in flooring, and our own VP of marketing, Lindsey Waldrep, is recognized among the honorees! The magazine created the feature as part of its 35th anniversary celebration to recognize notable women who lead and make a difference in the industry.

Lindsey is a leader at the forefront of the U.S. surfaces and interior products industries. As our vice president of marketing, she’s a prominent voice for the tile industry with both residential and commercial markets. She draws on her proven business acumen and a diverse background in multidisciplinary design (interior, graphic, advertising, and set design) to identify and define product trends, meaningfully connect with key decision-makers, and guide strategies that take not only Crossville but the tile industry at large to new heights.

“Lindsey has been an asset to our organization in so many way ways,” Mark Shannon, Crossville EVP of sales, shares. “Lindsey’s voice in the flooring industry, the design industry, as well as the field of education, have placed her in a position to deserve this recognition. Her contributions of time and talent have not just been for Crossville; they have been for our industry.”

Sandy Jones, our product launch manager and longtime Crossville employee, has worked closely with Lindsey for a decade and gives her perspective on the industry recognition.

“In working with Lindsey the last 10 years, she has been an inspiration to strive to be the best you can be. She is encouraging to the entire team. She gives us opportunities to grow both professionally and personally. As a fellow woman in the tile industry, she gives us the courage to stand up and be heard in a male dominated industry. She has taught us how to do this respectfully but in a way we are respected for our opinions in return. Lindsey instills in us the need to become experts in our fields so we can express our knowledge with confidence. I am proud to call her my teammate, my boss, and most of all my friend.”

Carol Cisco, VP and publisher for SANDOW Design Group, also offered acknowledgement of Lindsey’s inclusion on the 35 Women of Flooring list.

“I have worked with Lindsey quite closely over the last five years and have grown to appreciate her business acumen, marketing expertise, and her ability to juggle many different projects that all need the ‘Lindsey special touch!’. She…is always open to new ideas, and in the best way, is a great decision maker who knows what she wants for Crossville and their dealers and distributors. She is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and is a great networker who believes in the power of using print, digital, and events platforms to promote Crossville to all of their audiences! I admire Lindsey’s belief in the power of research and insights that help inform the Crossville business, making them a success in the flooring industry, from commercial to residential and to wherever Lindsey takes them next! Lindsey is truly a gem and the SANDOW Design Group is proud of her acknowledgement.”

Over the course of her career, Lindsey has worked in a range of creative and marketing roles for corporations and ad agencies. In addition to Crossville, her 20 year tenure in flooring includes wood, laminate and carpet industries. She speaks at industry events and conferences, including Coverings Expo and Southern Style Now. She holds a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design and an MBA from Kennesaw State University – Michael J. Coles College of Business.

She’s contributed to the advancement of the tile, flooring and design industries through leadership roles with key organizations. She recently completed a 9-year term on the board for the Common Thread for the Cure. She’s an active member of the Tile Council of North America Marketing committee, the advisory committee member for Interior Design Magazine’s Hall of Fame Awards, as well as the Dean’s Advisory Board for University of Tennessee’s School of Architecture (CoAD). Additionally, she’s an associate of American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
