Triangles and Multi-Directional Graphic Patterns Are Unique Features of Crossville’s Shades 2.0 Collection

We recently launched our new Shades 2.0 porcelain tile collection, and with this new generation of our best-selling line, we’ve added some unique, on-trend features that take it to the next level—and beyond!

While the color palette for Shades 2.0 (the 13 colors revolutionize warm neutrals) is extremely notable, a big story for this collection focuses on the offering of a triangle shape and new multi-directional, graphic-patterned accent tiles; both are absolute stand-out features.

Let’s Talk Triangles

We’re excited to introduce 12” right triangles for vast customization possibilities!

According to our own Lindsey Waldrep, Shades 2.0’s beauty is enhanced by the directional attributes of the collection.

“One of the most beautiful things the new triangles in Shades 2.0 is the directional situation that goes on because Shades obviously always has this linear direction to it, but you can create very subtle patterns depending on which way you turn the triangles.”

With the new 12” right triangle, designers can create stunning, geometric patterns, and installers won’t have the headache of cutting tile to achieve desired looks. As with the standard field tiles, the triangle features a subtle, linear graphic that gives nod to the biophilic design trend and is available in all 13 colors.

Imagine installing two triangle tiles together in contrasting or complementary colors; the configuration forms a 12” square yet offers an angular, visualizing interesting pattern. Use the triangles to form arrow-like patterns, chevrons, and more.

The triangles can be interplayed with any of the collections other size formats to punctuate the tile applications and really mix things up!

Play with Patterns

The multi-directional, graphic-patterned accent tile options of Shades 2.0 are adventurous, bold design elements that have an almost tribal feel and are far from ordinary. This option speaks to the trends of “touch points” for tactile experiences in design and “Bohemia” that connects to authentic peoples and nature-inspired experiences.

Designers may choose to install the surface visual’s patterns and soft striations in the same direction for a clean, continuous look or alternate directions to create a more varied, textural appearance. The multi-directional graphic-pattern tile is available in the 12”x24” field tile in all 13 colors.

“It does almost have a tribal feel to it. And one of the things that we’ve noticed in design, even in residential, are these very bold graphic patterns that connect with indigenous cultures and global cultures. Whether that be the in boho farmhouse with sponge painting of two different triangle arrow print on a wall and black in white to some fantastic new wallpapers that we’ve seen coming out, both in traditional and grass class that have a woven nature to it, Shades 2.0 answers these trends and works in concert with other elements,” shares Waldrep.
