The Shape of Things to Come: Crossville at Surfaces Expo 2019

With the art of M.C. Escher as inspiration, we dared to ask why a floor couldn’t also be a ceiling, and we acknowledged that designers welcome chaos because it invites them to create order. From an upside down staircase to columns decked in iconic, waterjet-cut shapes (lizards and pegicorns, anyone?), we took the booth design to the limits to showcase just how versatile and unexpectedly adventurous porcelain tile can be.

The Counter(top) Evolution Begins

We introduced the world to Crossville Porcelain Countertops. This stunning new materials is set to evolve and revolutionize countertops for commercial and residential settings. The 12mm-thick porcelain slabs offer gorgeous styles and powerful performance, just as you’d expect from porcelain tile. We even offer looks that coordinate with some of our most popular traditional tile collections such as State of Grace and Notorious. We exhibited the installation possibilities with floating counters, as well as placements at the always busy coffee bar, resource cabinet, and tiered ‘steps’.

A Concrete Resolution

Our upcoming Reformation porcelain tile collection turned lots of heads at the show. This inventive new line reimagines and reforms people’s perceptions about tile that replicates the look of concrete. Offered in plank sizes when most people presume concrete would only be available in squares, Reformation defies expectation and transcends to encourage endless design possibilities and patterns. Not only are the shapes completely novel, so are the nuances in shades and tones of the collection’s modern, neutral color palette.

Nothing Plain About Astral Plane

The booth’s floor was anchored by our must-see Astral Plane collection. This line is truly out-of-this-world in terms of its surface visual, large format sizes, and contemporary colors. When installed in large swaths as we featured in the booth, this line is undeniably a show-stopping alternative that will inspire design projects across commercial and residential sectors. It’s absolutely gorgeous, as confirmed by countless show attendees who paused to inspired.
